Chic Trend: Blues for summer

Blue is not a traditional summer colour, and  the blues that do make it to the summer palette are the brighter ones, but indigo and navy along with pale summer blues are great choices for the summer days you don’t want to be too flowery or bright.

Our top summer blue choices can be worn in a number of ways:

Solid blue: dark and light

Dare to wear an all-blue outfit for evenings out as a substitute for black. Team with contrast accessories that help break the blue. For a formal day look, wear a pale blue shirt with trousers or navy blue skirt with a crisp white shirt.

White and blue

White is not my favourite colour, but I love how it can be playfully used to break the monotony of an outfit and brighten a darker colour. This season, use an element of white across your outfits, including the blues. Keep it casual with a striped tee or doll up with a flattering dress.

Blue prints

Blue prints (pun unintended) can be just as flirty and feminine as brightly-coloured large florals. Look for multi-coloured prints and interesting drapes inspired by summer motifs inspired by nature (flowers, leaves… you get the drift!)

Blue for men

Guys willing to experiment with colours can try softer blues this summer. They’d be a good break from the brights (oranges, greens and even pinks!) everyone’s wearing this season.
